CARDBOARD FOUNDATIONS

1. On one side of the cardboard, cut two small slits of equal length. Repeat for all 4 pieces of cardboard.

 

2. Slide the slit ends together to make a structure.

1. Using the CardBoard Creaser, crease the cardboard in two places.

2. Fold the areas where you creased to make a triangle and secure with duct tape.

COMPRESSION

How It Works:
Press down and the cardboard compresses. Let go, and the cardboard releases.

Materials Needed:

  • 3 square pieces of cardboard

  • Duct tape

  • 1 Cardboard Creaser

1. Place two cardboard squares on top of each other. Tape one edge together. Using the Cardboard Creaser, fold the top piece upward at the tape line to create a hinge.


2. Fold the other square into a Z shape (accordion-style).


3. Tape one end of the Z-fold to the bottom cardboard piece. Tape the top of the Z-fold to the underside of the top hinged piece.

COMPRESSION

How it Works:
Hold the knot and pull the Strap Stock to close.
Hold the knot and pull the cardboard to open (like window shades).

SHADES

Materials Needed:

  • 1 rectangluar piece of cardboard

  • 2 pieces of Strap Stock

  • 1 Cardboard Creaser

  • 1 Hole Puncher

  1. Use the Cardboard Creaser to make 4 creases (2 creases on one side, and 2 on the other).

  2. On each folded panel, make 2 holes with the Hole Puncher, one near the top, one near the bottom.

  3. Thread the Strap Stock through all the holes, weaving in and out like a shoe.

  4. Tie a knot at one end to hold it in place.

 

SHADES

How it Works:
Lift to open and press to close

Materials Needed:

  • 1 piece of cardboard

  • 1 piece Hold Rope

  • 1 Cardboard Creaser

  • 1 Hole Puncher

  1. Use the Cardboard Creaser to make a crease and fold the cardboard.

  2. On each folded side, create holes near the crease.

  3. Thread the hold rope through all the holes, weaving in and out like a shoe.

  4. Tie a knot at one end to hold it in place.

How it Works:

One part stays in place, and the other part pivots around it.

Materials Needed:

  • 2 pieces of cardboard

  • 1 Pin-N-Pivot

  • 1 Hole Puncher

  1. Poke a hole through each cardboard piece.

  2. Insert a Pin-N-Pivot into both cardboard pieces, and pivot!

How it Works:

Materials Needed:

  • 2 pieces of cardboard

  • 1 piece Hold Rope

  • 1 Cardboard Creaser

  • 1 Hole Puncher

  1. On each piece of cardboard, create holes close to the edge.

  2. Thread the Hold Rope through all the holes, weaving in and out like a shoe.

  3. Tie a knot at both ends to hold in place.

HINGE

  1. On each piece of cardboard, create a hole close to the edge.

  2. Place the Fix Frame over the holes and screw in the Board Binders. For extra security: add a nut to the back of the screw.
